Total Acid Value
Details
The Total Acid Number (TAN) is an indicator of oil degradation, reflecting the total acid content present in the oil.
During operation, the base oil reacts with oxygen, resulting in increased viscosity and the formation of sticky varnish deposits. If the acid concentration becomes too high, it can lead to workpiece corrosion, compromising the quality of the quenching process.
