Detail
The Electron Probe Micro Analyzer (EPMA) is an instrument used to analyze solid substances. It works by bombarding a sample with an accelerated and focused electron beam, which induces various interactions between the electron beam and the atoms of all elements present in the sample.
EPMA is a hybrid instrument that combines the capabilities of a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and an Element Analyzer, specifically a Wavelength Dispersive Spectrometer (WDS), allowing for detailed and precise elemental analysis.
